On 16 January, Sarah Tobin will present about the difficulties to leave the camp behind, not only for refugees, but even more so for political actors and humanitarian organizations. In the first part of her talk she will provide an overview of the history of Somalian forced migration to Kenya, paying special attention to the developments in the last years. In the second part, she will discuss the paradoxical logics and outcomes concerning all three so-called durable solutions—local integration, resettlement in third countries and repatriation.
