Official announcement and call for abstracts for the Autonomous Inland and Short Sea Shipping Conference (AISS) 2023, which will take place on 5 and 6 September 2023.

The conference promotes technical and scientific exchange among industry, academia and authorities in the fields of autonomous inland and short sea shipping as well as port logistics, smart waterborne logistics and related subjects.

We highly welcome participants and presenting authors to register for the conference at the registration website www.conftool.com/aiss2023, registrations are open until the 30th of August. For the AISS2023, we implemented some improvements to make the conference even more interesting to you:

  1. We broadened the conference topics, covering now ship automation, remote operation and assistance systems, model-building, simulators and digital twins, smart port logistics, traffic planning and simulation, transport chain digitalization, emission reduction by assistance systems and automation, research platforms, test fields and infrastructure and related subjects.
  2. We are glad to announce a special issue of the Ship Technology Research journal for the publication of full papers emerging from conference contributions. Publication of a full paper is optional and each submission will be subjected to a scientific review process.
  3. An early bird registration at a reduced fee of 170 EUR (late bird is 220 EUR) as well as sponsored rates for students (25 EUR for early bird and 50 EUR for late bird) are available.

Abstract submission, which is mandatory for all presentations is now possible via the registration website (www.conftool.com/aiss2023). In addition, a pdf file may be uploaded (with optional figures) using the template located at the conference website www.aiss-conf.com.
